Asian Law Student’s’ Association Local Chapter Universitas Padjadjaran (ALSA LC Unpad) is one of the Faculty Student Activity Units (UKMF) at the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia and the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University. In order to support the performance of the ALSA LC Unpad Board in implementing Work Programs especially in the academic field, in this case holding a Webinar with the theme “Misuse of Telecommunications Facilities for Crime and Fraud: Legal and Non-Legal Aspects”.

The webinar begins with the Welcoming Speech from Prof. Dr. An An Chandrawulan, S.H., LL.M as Dean of the Faculty of Law Unpad, Keynote Speech from Prof. Dr. Ahmad M. Ramli, S.H., M.H., FCB.Arb. (Director General of Post & Information Technology (PPI) Kominfo RI) in this webinar he hopes that this webinar activity can overcome all misuse of Telecommunications for crime or fraud. Therefore, we, as students of the Faculty of Law, are interested in getting a more comprehensive discussion of this matter from sources who are qualified in their fields.

Asian Law Students’ Association Local Chapter Universitas Padjadjaran (ALSA LC Unpad) in its website succeeded in presenting 3 well-known and highly credible resource persons who are experts in their fields, such as Mr. Merza Fachys as CEO of PT. Smartfren Telecom. TBk, Ms. Dr. Hj. Sinta Dewi, S.H., LL.M. as Head of the Center for Cyber ​​Law Studies, Faculty of Law UNPAD, and Mr. Indra Maulana, S.H., LL.M as Head of the Law and Cooperation Section of the PPI Secretariat General Ministry of Communication and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia.

The presence of this webinar is in line with the conditions during the pandemic. Which has one of the objectives of: Making the Webinar as a forum for resource persons to provide and share knowledge in accordance with the issue being discussed. ALSA Webinar with Kominfo and FH Unpad is also a series of events aimed at improving the quality of resources and training target student participants to become competent law graduates and increase knowledge of laws and regulations concerning issues being discussed. The event was held online through the Zoom Meeting application. It is hoped that the series of activities of this event can also impact and influence various aspects of life at every level of society, especially technological and intellectual elements during the transition to the new normal era during the pandemic.
