Profile

Prof. Dr. Ahmad M. Ramli, S.H., M.H., FCBArb. He is a Professor of Law at Padjadjaran University. Born in Bandung, July 4, 1961, Prof. Ramli studied S1, S2, and Doctoral Program in Law with the title Laude at Padjadjaran University. Prof. Ramli also conducted research and attended the Visiting Scholar Program at the University of California Berkeley, USA, and the Certificate Program on Intellectual Property at the Japan Patent Office Tokyo. Currently, Prof. Ramli is the Director General of Postal and Informatics Implementation at the Ministry of Communication and Informatics. Prof. Ramli began his career as a Teaching Assistant at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Padjadjaran in 1986, until at the age of 43, Prof. Ramli recorded his name as one of the youngest Professors at Padjadjaran University.

In 2010 Prof. Ramli held the position as Director General of Intellectual Property, Prof. Ramli was also appointed as Head of the National Legal Development Agency (BPHN) in 2007 to 2010, and Plt. Director General of Legislation of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in 2010. 

In the field of research, Prof. Ramli gained various international recognition for legal research in various legal fields such as research on E-Commerce, IPR, Aspects of Foreign Investment Law (PMA), Consumer Law Protection, and Cyber Law. His expertise in various aspects of law led him to be trusted as the head of the government team in the discussion of various bills such as, Copyright Bill, Brand Bill, Patent Bill, Public Information Disclosure Bill, Money Laundering Crime Bill, all of which have been enacted. In the field of profession, Prof. Ramli currently occupies a position as the Expert Council of the Indonesian Legal Scholars Association (ISHI) and Arbitrator at the Indonesian National Arbitration Board (BANI).
